Within the framework of Tua-Tiu-Tiann Festival and Residency, we’ll give 4 workshops to the pupils of Taiping Elementary School – the oldest school in Taipei. In the workshops, we’ll introduce the pupils to different ways of listening/seeing/perceiving sounds, present sound art works that are inspired from everyday life, using familiar site-specific objects. The second workshop is a sound walk in the Dadaocheng neighbourhood, one of the oldest districts in Taipei. The sonic and electro-magnetic environment of the neighbourhood will be discovered by the pupils themselves with our guidance. Together with the pupils, we will make a collective interactive installation using forgotten, neglected, ignored objects such as old toys, household utensils with which the pupils have a personal connection, a piece of memory. The installation will be open to public’s view and interaction at the concourse of the school until the 9th of November 2019.
